What are dental implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium post that can be surgically placed into the jawbone to act as a substitute for the root of a tooth. They provide a supportive base for tooth restorations such as custom-made dental crowns, which look and function just like your natural teeth.
Dental implants are an effective and durable solution for patients suffering from missing or severely damaged teeth. Over time, missing teeth can lead to a variety of issues, including gum disease, tooth decay, shifting teeth, and even bone loss.

Types of dental implants

Here are the two primary dental implant treatments we offer:
Traditional dental implants
Traditional implants are best suited to patients with one or several missing teeth. They are performed by securing each implant individually before attaching a tooth replacement such as a crown.
All-on-4 dental implants
All-on-4 dental implants are an ideal treatment for people who are missing most or all of their teeth. Rather than placing each implant one at a time, we’ll secure four strategically positioned implants that will act as anchors for a dental bridge to replace an entire row of teeth.
Dental implants vs bridges
Like dental implants, bridges are dental restorations that can be used to replace one or more missing or damaged teeth.
Traditionally, a bridge is secured to two natural teeth on either side of one or more missing teeth. But they can also be used in conjunction with dental implants. In these cases, we can use an All-on-4 approach, placing dental implants into the jawbone and then using the implants to anchor the bridge securely in place.

Your insurance may cover all or part of your dental implant surgery, especially if your treatment is medically necessary. If you don’t have insurance, no worries! We offer an annual savings plan, which includes 2 cleanings, x-rays, an emergency visit, and a 10% discount on all treatments.

What to expect from your consultation
At Main Family Dental, we believe every patient deserves comfortable care and exceptional results. We take a holistic and individualized approach. During your dental implant consultation, we’ll answer any questions and make sure you understand all your options.
We’ll also use our whole-head CBCT to give us a detailed 3D image of your entire smile. This assists in treatment planning and helps us create a surgical guide that improves the predictability and longevity of your results.
